Colin Angle
Colin Angle has designed some out-of-this-world robots – literally. A leading authority on mobile robots, Angle is chairman, CEO and co-founder of iRobot Corporation. As a graduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Angle created Genghis, a six-legged walking robot designed for space exploration; the robot is now at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC. In the early days of iRobot, Angle and his team designed behavior-controlled robots for NASA that lead to the Sojourner exploring Mars in 1997. Today, under Angle’s guidance, iRobot is at the forefront of the growing robot industry, delivering home and military robots that are making a difference.
